Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Hi Everyone,
Just joined this support group in the wei hours of the night or early AM prior to sunrise, either way you look at it I am today's newbee. I dont typically jump right in and post but I am honestly I feel like every tiny megabit of the tiny bit of patience I am desperatly trying to hold onto is literally being tto the highest level. I know 1st impressions are the lasting ones but I need to get some things off my chest before I break down....
So.....I'm an only child...well child doesn't apply as next year marks the big 40 (Lord willing)...my mother has battled with bipolar disorder since the mid-90's and believe me there simply aren't enough hours in the day to discuss the battles and wars faced between then and now. All of that said, my mother is the only relative I have and regardless of what has been done, I will always stand and fight for her wellbeing if when she is against it!!!! Approx. 10 years ago Mommy decided to go back home (Guyana) and live in the country... until this January that is exactly what happened. Mom and recently deceased StepFather (God rest his soul) backed up from New York and moved back to home...I am not sure what transpired between the passing of her husband (my StepFather) in September 2021 and her arrival back here in the States with me but I am certain the lady that stayed to helped my mom during mourning was overmedicating my mother and expected the same to occur while Mommy was here "visiting" her child. Don't get me wrong I was going to try my hardest to convince her to stay in the States during the visit but once I saw my mother being pushed in a wheel chair by TSA and the serpant woman strolling along side w/o a care in the world it was w/o question MY MOTHER WAS NOT RETURNING TO GUUYANA!!!
The entire month of January consists of building a safe comformtable zone for Mom...making sure she knew she no longer had anything to fear or worry about...asking mild questions every now and then to figure out what is going on...did not get much but by mid Feb my mom was actually ready to leave the house and actually attended two small social events between end of February early March. By the 15th of March downward spirals began and have not stopped since. April I rushed her to the ER because it looked like she was having a stroke thankfully it was not but it is turns out she now suffers from Tardive dyskinesia (T.D). No treatmennts or cures for this, some people see reductions with symtoms while others are not as lucky faced to deal with permanently.
When we returned from the ER my mother feell into a snucken snucken place and has not returned since....and her I am today venting to the group....thoughts/feedback/ideas/all is welcome.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
