In my new apt!
Okay, so first of all; the land lady who lives below me said she was going to clean the apt. Do you think she did? NOPE. An inch of dust everywhere, even FOOD in the OVEN. I couldn't believe it. The only thing she kept her word on was painting the walls the colors I wanted. Oh, but I wanted the living room yellow. That wasn't yellow, but the tan trim on the white walls went perfect with my red sofas. So I can't complain there.
She is just being so snippy with me. The sinks and tub leaks, the bathroom window doesn't open, the place was TRASHED. If it wern't for the help of my housing worker I would have never been able to get anything done. I cleaned all day yesterday and the place is still not sanitary. I have to say though, I am very happy with the way it looks. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Or even picked out better myself. It is all perfect!
I'm at the public library right now eating lunch after 3 hours at the dentist.
Finally have my laptop back but it's still broken. Meeting some friends from the supported housing place here.
I just can't believe how ROYALLY pissed off I am about the condition of the apartment. She says she'll mop the floors today, which she even said should have been done before hand. She was going to do them last night but by the time 7pm rolled around I was just too damn tired to have anyone in my apt. I took a shower during the day because I don't have blinds in my windows. Want to know WHY I don't? Well, they were SO dusty I would have to have taken them outside and clean them with a hose.
All I know if she keeps up with the attitude she's giving me (my land lady), is that I am going to get a month to month lease and just find a new apt. I'm PISSED.

What horse-shittery is that? Maybe she's a boozer or has some disability issue? Either way, she's running a business and ought to uphold to her agreements.
I'm astounded by the sound of the place. But then again, when I first moved the Denver we ended up taking the landlord's apt. He said he would move down stairs into a basement one so we could have the first floor or something.

We found porn.
We found food in the over too (I hear about that happening a lot actually, it's happened to myself twice at least)
We found dirt in every crevice and corner.
We even found out on accident that the walls were like three shades lighter under the three layers of yellow nicotine.
First places can be like that. The older you get, the more money you'll make and eventually you'll wind up in a nice place. Or you could be retarded and buy a house like my boyfriend who is now soley responsible for the bathroom redo, the porches to be redone, the tree in the back that's trying to crush the place, and maybe one day the foundation that makes all our rolly chairs join each other on the east side.
No place is perfect... You have a good plan tho! Month to month is a great idea and yeah, tell the bitch to piss off if it comes to it. Write to any company she advertised the place with, I like to get on craigslist and treat it like it's the better business beuro LOL
Don't let it eat at your sanity, though... It may be a mess but at least it can be cleaned up.
