Does anyone here have times when they feel drunk without drinking?

I was at a friends house last night and had a dinner party and as the night went on I felt like i had been drinking. Even my speech was affected?

I slur my words when manic/getting high but never feel like i've been drinking

Its the only way i can describe the feeling I get. Had to really focus on my words to get them out properly

Sometimes when I'm manic, people ask me if I'm high or drunk.

I am like that right before and during a manic episode, My manics are mild so I usually welcome it....beats being depressed all the time!!! Just keep a good eye out and if you feel any other symptoms you might wan to call your doc. Could it be the medcine you are on? Just a thought.

Yes , High anxiety does this for me too , I can't think straight ,or remember things ,slur my words , I get jerky movements, and my balance can even be off like I'm drunk.
When hypo I get so high, some times it is a feeling like I'm drunk and need to act sober for people.

I took too much Ambien and Klonopina few nights and felt that way all day. Maybe you should see you Dr.

Not started my meds yet as awaiting liver function test results. It's happened a few times but was only dxnd last week with bipolar so now its a case of learning what things are if that makes sense.

I have been down for some time now and am looking forward to getting higher

Could it be you were just getting tired??? I get that way when I begin to get tired.....words come out all backwards, and it's hard for me to concentrate. Don't know about the drunk feeling but I have do get lethargic and so tired it take all the effort I have to get anything done.

Hi tats - no not tired it was like a hightend sense of things not really sure how to describe it. I guess my head just got really giddy. It didn't last too long but straight after I felt paranoid that people could tell somethin was wrong.

I know that feeling. Sometimes my speech is so rapid, because I'm so excited, I slur my words, or they run together, and then I laugh and try to force myself to slow down and enunciate the words more slowly.
