Why am I so darn fat! I barely eat anything at all, and I get up and do chores and all kinds of things these days yet my weight just won't budge.
I truly believe it's the combo of meds and fat genes. Obesity is a problem for the women in my family. While I noticed some of them do eat a lot! even those of us who don't are still large.
I'm pushing 280 and I just can't get my weight down. I can't live like this my self esteem is suffering because of it. I want to be healthy and thin and attractive!
thanks for letting me rant! I'm just so tired of dieting for nothing! It's not working!
And one more thing! I'm tired of all the assholes who think that all fat people just have no self control and we all eat tons of food. Some of us truly can't help that we are over weight!

Anyone can lose weight - just for some of us its 10 times harder - doesn't mean we can't do it ((((BIG HUG))))
BLT salad - LOL Bacon, lots of bacon - lettuce, tomato and mayo! On low carbs, you can't have margarine, but you can have all the real butter or mayo you want : )
I accepted being a size 20 - acceptance is important, if your woman are large, be large - no worries, no beating yourself up - but if you want to lose it - you can! I'm walking, talking proof : )
Hugs!
Genes could well be it. On my mother's side we're all tiny. I think any weight I've gained after the Paxil weight-gain disaster was over and done with is sheerly my fault.
Honestly I hate how people equate weight gain, etc. With "the world's problem's"- greed, corruption, etc. As though it were some unchecked sin. -.- So tired of preaching. There should be a limit on it or an outright ban.
Also yo-yo eating habits will do that. I'm in a phase where my body is angrily demanding me to feed it all day because I tried to pull a fast one and just quit for a while. Consistency is key I think, but I've never been able to pull that off for long so I'm out of advice on that.
late night eating.
I can go all day without eating, and have 3 meals before midnight LOL
I DO NOT EAT AFTER MIDNIGHT
I eat well balanced meals , with lots of protein and veg
I did a year long walking program , I lost only about 10 pounds.
My sister who weights a lot more than I do, eats a lot more than I do, lost almost 60 pounds.
My Pdoc was amazed I lost the 10 pounds.
For some of us, losing weight is close to impossible
Funny
Codependency is my main issue in life.
I hope (fingers crossed for me please) that I am on a good med combo and maybe I will be able to lose some weight. I plan to eat nothing but vegetables, lean meat, and healthy fats in moderation. We'll see how it goes.
Yes my thyroid is tested all the time and nothing is wrong with the darn thing.
Diets don't work for many reasons. It's hard to stick to them, you are not getting all your nutrients or the right kind of carbs and fats. Some of the things that have helped me:
I'm following the weight watchers plan online for free. The focus is more on "what" you eat rather than "how much". Most fruits and vegetables are freebies - you can eat all you want. Also, you have extra points each week to "spend" any way you want.
Another good guide is "MyPyramid.com". It's a government site that teaches you how your plate should look and about portion control.
Typically, one forth of your plate should be proteins, one fourth grains, and one half vegetables. You "need" fats in your diet but they should be healthy fats. You also need carbs for energy but they should be healthy carbs and have other nutritional value.
I encourage you to check it out and start a life long learning process. Strive for healthy and forget about the scales. Do some yoga and stretches. You will start to see yourself standing a little taller, walking with a bounce in your step and holding your head high.
I know how strong and determined you are when you set your mind to something. Healthy living is not just beneficial to you but will be a good foundation for your children.
As always I wish you the very best!! And you are beautiful to me.
Because WW tracked it for me, I was able to look back and see my average. It was like .7/wk. It came in the form of maybe a 3 lb. loss and then I might stay the same the next week and gain a lb or two the next week. Really wanted to make me throw my hands up.
But mostly it was slow, steady loss. It was very hard to do. I often stayed cranky especially the first few months while I was developing new habits. I remember saying "This Sucks" a lot!
And it's hard for me to maintain. I don't do it the right way. I starve and don't exercise. I don't know why I do that. It makes no sense. I'm trying to do better. I would feel better. Old demons and fears and habits get the best of me.
I'm still learning. I'm glad you can come here and vent. This post is a reminder for me that I need to change even though I'm in my healthy range, right now anyway.
Weight and self-esteem go hand in hand with me too. And my meds had helped me gain the 100. I understand that too. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I just really want to wish you the best!
(Oh and they have support boards I used on WW online that helped me too).
I think I may go back on to maintain a healthy way. I'm very thankful you posted this!
Funnily enough, I found this diet that, apparently, follows the ancestors hunting-gathering pattern- when we kill a mammoth, we eat. Then we don't. Hmm, that's kinda what I was doing anyway. I think it's called intermitten fasting. I did it anyway, but not as a conscious choice. Nice to get validation...
No clue about meditation's influance, as I'm off everything right now and all I ever took was prozas generics and .....all pams.
Stable weight, happy to report. Obssessed a little with certain bits (muffin top), but with 10/12 size I know it's nothing to complaint about.
Maybe this fasting/feasting diet is something worth looking into.
