Is there such a thing as compassion for exes?
I am watching the adults I helped raise play the dating games and I am continually struck dumb by how quickly "in love" turns vicious. I leave the room when the subject comes up. Have since the 70s, before I even got around to having kids. "Divorce, the next generation" hasn't improved the theme any in my opinion.
It is much easier to marry the one you love than to love the one you marry.
The habitual-exes in my own world seem to be remarkably consistent in demanding consideration for their dysfunctions while harshly judging the dysfunctions of their exes and soon-to-be-exes.

Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
HELP!!!
Holding others in contempt can be very satisfying and therapeutic for us, it depends on the person.
Not much to do except let the young ones make their own mistakes, or more happily, find the brass ring. But it can be so satisfying to be able to tell people that I told you so, as long as they don't move back in.
Lots more to say about this but it's a good time to stop.
