It's about a tabby cat that had a happy home and happy life. Until one day she left her home and took up at the neighborhood Granny's house. Her owner died the next day.
Granny was heard to say many times to her daughter and granddaughter, "Don't y'all pet that cat. She can't stay here." Soon granny's children started noticing she was petting the cat and it appeared the two had a mutual affection for each other.
Then Granny said, "Don't y'all feed that cat. She can't stay here." The daughter and granddaughter saw the bowls on the front porch. One with cat food in it and a tabby cat eating out of it. But, they didn't feed the cat because Granny told them not to.
Spring turned to summer and granny said, "That cat is not coming in the house. She can't stay here." Granny's children never said a word about the cat purring and lying on the sofa.
Time passed and the tabby cat had four little babies of her own. Granny made a bed for mama and babies and 'tried' to contain the little critters as they turned into adolescents. Mama cat would just whip the shit out of the babies if they got too far from her and Granny.
As the girls watched in dismay, the kitties tore Granny's perfect house apart. They climbed the Christmas tree and made flying leaps out as someone walked by. All of this with the sound of Granny's giggles in the background.
Granny's children went out in public at Christmas time and found good homes for the babies. Mama cat got her girly parts removed and grew into a 21 pound force to be reckond with. She and granny were thick as thieves over the years.
The day came when Granny had to leave home. Her Alzhiemer's had made it dangerous for her to be at home. The day after granny left, mama cat lay down and peacefully died. Granny never knew what happened to her cat, she had forgotten that she even had a stray cat that lived with her for over 20 years.
There is no moral to this story. It's just the first time I have told it in it's entirety. See, the story is about my mother and her cat, my niece and me.
The end.
LJ has decided tonight is the night to be a total bitch to Diamond have tried 5 times now to head for bed and she isnt having it
LOL - they named the poor cat if found - Gina! LOL already been to the vet and was in good health, now UTD shots and she'll be fixed after she fattens up a bit : )
BellBelle I really think that story could make it on Broadway...lot's of cat ladies and cat lady lovers down that way. Should maybe fill it in a bit more but as is I think even Woody Allen would have a hard time not picking up the phone. What's he doing these days anyway? It's just so colorful, poignant. humorous and the fact that you don't see a moral does not mean people won't find their own in it.
Just say'n
Bad Bad lung day - think a friend may come get Diamond for the day which would really help. She will get the one on one she needs and I perhaps can get something done
