my sister is a church secretary and ive been in this church a bunch. one day i see this painting of Smiling Jesus. my sister said the first time she saw it it startled her. we had my granddaughters 1st birthday party there today. so of course im showing everybody the Smiling Jesus pic. then i started asking everyone y He was smiling. i told them "cause hes fishing". so of course my daughter (shes the smart one) immediately takes a picture with her phone prompting me to do likewise. so i can have Smiling Jesus as my avatar. hope no one is offended.

I LOVE the idea of showing Jesus smiling!!!!!

This particular picture makes Him look a bit deranged though, in my opinion.

And I'm with Mojo in taking note of the fact that Jesus was not white.

I have seen someone who looks the way I imagine Jesus might have looked and there's no way that he would ever be mistaken for a Caucasian.

But your main premise!!!!

A happy laughing and/or smiling Jesus should predominate all the pictures of him!!!!

the race question was the farthest thing from my mind. Jesus Words have meaning for me. who cares what he looked like. we dont know. my brother said He looked like a pornstar. for which i reminded him we were in church and helped him beg Forgiveness. of course shortly thereafter i was begging for Mercy myself. blasphemer i am. the worst kind of humans. human humans

Its all about the smile. I don't see ethnic background as part of the picture, Jesus loves us all. I love to look at pictures that depict God smiling down on the world.

.....and I was just playing along with a couple of the posts. No offense meant in any way regarding religion and the original topic. I just commented on the race issue since it was brought up, because there is just no way he should be imagined as a white man. The whole "Ginger" hair and white skin really couldn't be further from the truth. It cracks me up.
