Whats lamictal and thx

it sounds rough. The most important thing I think would be to stay away from alcohol. I know my moods are more pronounced on it. I'm sorry you have to endure this. Good luck and Hugs, CherylT(:)

I take lithium and up until a month ago it was working well. you might want to keep notes between now and Wednesday. I know that when I am manic and go to the pdoc I have trouble explaining myself so my journal helps alot.

they told you to just stop? I think that's very irresponsible since doing that instead of slowly tapering off can cause all sorts of problems. I often have told docs that I'd come and live with them during things like this that they suggested. I use lithium and it's a good stabilizer for me but I know rapid cycling is a whole other thing so I wish you success!

They really did just tell me to stop... I was shocked cos I ve got husband and kids and obviously goona go down hill. I dont know anything about rapid cycling!!! Never even heard of it but its a new leaf X

lamictal is a mood stabilizer, I think lithium and lamictal are the 2 major meds used for bipolar. My pdoc said lamictal has lesser side effects. no weight gain and such.We are individuals andwhat works for one may not work for another. Also Lithium is one of the old school drugs, My pdoc is 81 yrs old, but he says it works for some.

I'm taking Depakote for my mood. Most people are on lamictal and lithium. Wondering why my pdoc put me on that. I said no to lithium, but still have to do blood draws with depakote.

Please be careful and stay safe. I was on all those new meds and none worked. I ended up using lithium 4yrs ago and it has helped me so much. I am now able to volunteer and hopefully soon get a part time job. I pray that you have patience with your pdoc and your meds.

Pleaase do not just stop taking your meds, depending on what they are they could at the mildest cause you to try jumping out of your skin and more seriously could cause seizures. If the doctor wants them stopped suddenly he should have prescribed Klonopin or ativan or Xanex for the withdrawal. Please contact your health care provider as soon as you can.
