Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
They cannot possibly know what you are going through. What I do in such situations is I try to find a task that involves a lot of time like organizing bills. If I can and someone can cover for me, I go to a quiet un occupied office and I do my little task AWAY from people. This is normally how I make it to 5:00.
If you have some pocket change, a good soda is good, like a root beer and some nabs or something. Low blood sugar can create a mode of crying at times. I dont' recommend soda all of the time, but once in awhile when the blood sugar is low, it can be okay. If blood sugar is an often event, some good low sugar fruit juice is better (obviously see the doctor if it gets diabetic).
Going to the bathroom and crying real hard is another good thing to do. Just make sure not to cry so hard that you get your blood-pressure up too high. Wash your face with cold water and take a tylenol if you need to.
If you get too tired and have public transport, use it. If not, get a hold of yourself before going home.
Once home, a nice hot bath or shower, herbal tea, cheese and crackers or peanut butter and crackers, and fruit can help you to feel better and eventually get supper for yourself. Nice, soft music like Bob Acri or Loreena McKennitt can help.
When you feel better but irritated, a walk (WHEN IT IS COOL) is also good.

I explained to boss that I am bipolar with high anxiety issues. It is a disability. You can NOT be fired for it. She has worked out a plan with me that on my bad days, i do menial work such as filing and writing cover letters. On days where i feel ok, i work on my cases. I know not all bosses are this understanding and I am extremely lucky. But you should never underestimate the love of people. I relaly think you should explain to your boss and come to some sort of agreement. Days of no concentration..do little things. My boss has let me go home on my days where i cry for no reason. I took an hour meeting with her to explain everything and told her I would get a doctors note if she needed...but she fully understood and has been extremely supportive of me.
