Ok....so I've had 8 ECT treatments. I'm only scheduled for 9 (so far)...but I'm pretty sure they're going to add another 3 on. I'm feeling MUCH better.... if you asked any of my friends, they would tell you the same. I'm able to find humor in things again. I'm able to actually enjoy some of my time.


Just wanted to share what a miracle treatment ECT is. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has trouble finding stability on medications. Statistically it is 15% more affective than medications (meds are 70% affective and ECT is 85% affective).

The # 1 side effect is memory loss. I don't know how much I've forgotten, but there are quite a few things I've needed to be reminded of. (For example: I had to go to a parent teacher conference yesterday that I totally forgot about) The memory loss isn't half as bad as I anticipated it to be though.

I have always been shit-scared of ECT, but times have changed it seems, huh!

glad to hear its working for you.what a relief for you it must be to finally feel good. is the memory loss that bad??? can you just use a good pocket calendar or smart phone to help,could it be that simple?? i have often considered it bc when i get depressed it took two years to get me out of it. glad your feeling better.what is the process itself like????
