Drinking on meds

I am bipolar. I take lithium, lexapro and seroquel. I am 23 and i really wanna go out once in a while on the weekends and drink. Is there anyone else struggeling with this or can someone give me some advice on how i can do this? Thanks.

i am on meds and struggle with alcohole. im only 28 and have many single gals who party all the time. i feel more of a drunk if i go off meds. but from wat i have been told bipolar and alcohole and hand in hand. another symptom. so i guess avoid it. once you start you cant stop and all the crazy things you think of came out when drunk. my thawts anyway. bp is a tough thing to battle

If I was on more than one med for my BP, I would quit drinking all together. I have been lucky with Lamictal. I can have a drink and not feel horrible after. If I drink to get drunk, I pay for 2 days after. it would probably be the best advice to quit drinking. Best of luck to you.

i've had no reaction to consuming reasonable amounts of alcohol (at two weddings ) on lithium and lexapro. don't know anything about seroquel.

btw. what's your addiction? if alcohol you need to stay away from it!

Have fruit cocktails instead, very girlie and very nice... I know you won't get merry from the drink but if you are in good company and having a good time it won't be so bad and I bet they'll want to try what you're having too they look and taste so good....yum!!!

Or if you are a beer girl try non alcoholic brews but ask your Dr about them first as they still have some alcohol in them you need to look and see what % is in them.

With all the meds ive tried alcohol just makes me fall asleep! Doesnt make for a romantic night in either!
