So here's my story in short.
Been dx with bipolar since 14. Since 20/21 (im 26 this year) became stable and able to fully realize a stupid anxiety thoughts\paranoid thoughts or manic/depressed feeling and correct what I needed in my life to make me balanced again. I Work a steady job ,steady realtionship eneged life's great! Anyways last 5 months I have had a few stresses goin on but nothing that I can't or haven't handled worst before.
Either way I explain to my Dr I have a abit of anxiety and paranoia but nothing big. And I explained the new stresses(he didn't even listen)
I ask him for the third year in a row if I can please switch mood stabilizers in the spring as planning for the future I want to have kids and with my current mood stabilizer I can't even think of such a thing as its a 10% chance my child will have brith defects.I don't want to deal with switching mood stabilizer when I decided to have kids I would rather do it now when I can miss work(I'm part time but with in a year I will be fulltimer and couldn't afford to miss a week or so due to withdrawal.) I have explained this every time I see him for the past 3 years... I know then risks or switching I researched the meds that are "safe" to take. I have been stable for years other then little stresses that every human gets im stable!
He even agrees I'm stable! Yet he prescribes be Prozac... I asked what it was thinking it might be a mood stabilizers he told me...still hopefully thinking It was a mood stabilizer I asked how will we procesed if I come back in a month o.k...he say oh we'll just add it to your daily pills...he was mad I asked about the mood stabilizer and when I tryed to talk to him about other things non bipolar things he honestly walked out the door even tho I explained I had more to talk about(I see him once a year for 15mins I have to know what I want to say beforehand)
To say the least he looked at me like I was crazy...I work in healthcare I know what he was doing the tactics he was trying with me...
I need a new dr...my request isn't unrealistic! He didn't even want to switch my brith control because he didn't like UDI..hen explained he didn't like them and I explained I knew the risk..in medical field I research everything before I talk to my Dr about it..
So the Prozac not taking that was just a joke to get me out of his office faster. I'm looking for a new Dr not the 1st time I have wanted to with him..my whole family has left him pretty much...
What I'm asking isn't lightly thought about..

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...
Run...Run...Run like the wind from this guy. He sounds like he couldn't care less. You owe it to yourself to have a doctor listen to your needs, desires.
Its a few years away and now is a time to switch well I'm partrime with no house payments only rent.. Lord knows I will withdrawal
His a gp...you don't get a pdoc in my town unless you sign your into the hospital.. So I'm thinking if I get a better gp(my hubby gp is great! He will push back other appointments if you need more of his time for your appointment even with mental stuff!) Then the better gp if he feels uncomfortable with handling my medication switch then he'll get a pdoc...I'm at the end of my rope for 3years I have showen my Dr I'm stable and every time brought up thinking just looking at options of med switching so I can safely think about children.. He won't even let me do that its like he thinks I'm stupid and I don't no that I could mess my stable up and risk it all by switching..that I don't get having a baby could cause me to get depressed even on meds. I always could be fine and have a baby..my aunt who is bipolar is 50+ and didn't have kids because of her meds...that won't be me..I just don't no how to fix it...im trying to do everything by the doctors books as I want the best for this future baby ,myself and my hubby..I'm just ranting now lol rabbling I'm upset and mad and not sure what my next move will be if I cant get into my hubbies Dr...
I had to wait about 3 months and I'm in Ontario as well but it was worth it... big hug for you...xo
Its very frustrating I swear he thinks I don't understand tho in my job I help make calls about other people's health so wait..but when it's my own I go stupid lol
Venting thanks everyone
