Ok, I sell on ebay. I do it every week. I buy wholesale and turn around and resell it...I love doing it. I've had 100% feedback since I started in 2008. Now this person bought an anklet from me and when she received it, it was broken. I examined it completely before sending it and it was ok. She left me negative feedback. without even contacting me to let me know about it so i could make it right...ok to my point...now my feedback score is 98.3% and I am absurdly devastated. As if the score is representing me as a person or something....I am such a perfectionist and I can't stand this, I feel awful...and where I was feeling great now I feel below the dirt. How can something so small just throw me for a loop. I'm trying to tell myself its nothing it doesn't define me, but its not working very well....little things like this just set me in the wrong direction and I feel so stupid for crying over it. Help!! I feel so messed up!! And I was feeling so great!

First of all relax and try to take deep breaths. Shit happens honey. You know it's no big deal. But you're still taking it personally. Well, that's something I would do too. I sometimes think beepers are perfectionists in many ways. We are people of extremes. We either want it perfect or we just don't care at all. I tend to be a perfectionist when hypomanic and don't care at all when depressed. Just try to keep reminding yourself that it was just one person who had a problem and everyone else thought you were great

I don't know if it will make you feel any better, but...if you were on there and had, like, 1,000 prior sales, and only One negative feedback...and you had something I wanted...I'd sure still buy from you.

I've not known too many who had 100% positive feedback, 1phoenix...that's a pretty good history.

Thanks i'm just beating myself up over something stupid....I think my moods are going a bit haywire and I'm just being over sensitive...i feel really stupid for letting something like that bother me...

Actually I would be the same way about my ebay feedback score so can relate. Its still at 100% but I actually worry about it. The thing is when I am a buyer I would be more than ok with your new feedback score. You are not alone on this but try not to let it get to you too much. She did not even give you a chance to sort things a nd you should say this on ebay when you reply to the feedback

I am so sorry this happened to you. it totally sucks.

I get stuck too, and wind myself up in my head over what other people might consider a none issue. The best advise I can give is just to concentrate on something good you did today. If you can focus on that one good thing you might be able to let the bad go.

I did the exact same thing when I was in school. If it was a 99%, I would just be devastated. I always thought it was my mom's fault, because she expected 100%.

Anyway, I know what you are feeling. Does E-bay have a complaint department? If you know the piece was not broken, she may be doing this to other people.

I would definitely buy from you at 98.3%, and I do alot of online shopping. Great record. MK

When I see someone has something I like and their feedback isn't 99%+ then I look at their feedback & see why - if I only see one negative feedback I would be like oh no biggie.. You can add a reason under her feedback (as can she if she wants) like buyer did not contact me & I would of replaced defective item. I have been on ebay myself for years & have thousands of feedbacks - I have left negative feedback a few times though for things I felt were necessary.. like a person claimed a product was fresh & I know date codes/packaging & it wasn't - I told her & she claimed no one ever had any issues. Don't freak out - you do seem to be very sensitive about this, your feedback will increase the more you sell so don't worry.
