Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Last night, I became hypomanic. Now, I haven't been manic or depressed in years, since taking medication every day since ECT... At first I thought it was because I was talking about stuff that interested me, but then I realized I'd just drunk two cups of black as black coffee, which I haven't had in over a year. It was nice while it lasted, but that's neutral Nick's opinion. The truth is, it's amazing to have on me. Where other people have alcohol to loosen them up and have a good time, I can just drink two cups of strong coffee, and because immensely positive, social, energetic, and intelligent. If I take advantage of it, there might be problems, but I don't see any harm in using it for parties or school assignments. I already get A's in school... With this, I'll Rock my PhD.
Before it got too late, I took my meds, it knocked me out, and now I feel fine. I awoke earlier than I normally do, but I'm completely neutral.
That's a good test, actually... Don't drink coffee until you want to sleep in, again.
Just know that I couldn't do this if I didn't find working treatment. If I'd tried without treatment, which I have, it would just have an elastic band effect and through me into a depression afterwards. All I'm saying is, I found an extraordinary gift, in bipolar.

""Don't drink coffee again until after you want to sleep in again, but don't drink coffee if you're too unenergetic.

I never knew people could drink coffee without getting manic, lol. Makes me feel sort of silly about posting this. I'm bipolar type I, and antidepressants have always had this effect on me.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.
