My pdoc is the type of person who only raises meds when you need them. Do you think that 5 mg of Abilify is worth taking at 30 a bottle if you are symptom free??? My pdoc only wants me on it for maintenance. Someone once told me that they thought my bipolar was in remission and that it is a particularly bad time for it to go into remission. CAN BP really go into remission??

Yes!!! 2.5 is starter dose. I could feel difference at that 2.5, 5 & higher...if your doing well..maybe don't rock ze boat! (Am a abilify devotee, awfully biased..Best Med Eva)

Oh & pull up a chair & let me crap on at length about remission...yesyesyes- happens..not for all but most definitely for some! & yes, you really can get Reeeally Sick again..go by your own psych history..as bad as it has been in past..that's what you want to work to stave off occurring again (or worse).

I should be really grateful that the only thing wrong with me is my self esteem issues. I mentioned to my pdoc that I felt fat and ugly and she said sounds like depression to me. But I told her that I am not sad and that I would notice if I was so she backed off of her depression idea.

don't know about abilify but yes remission is possible. over thirty years i have had some of them in remission and med free.

I don't thing so IMO. I am on maintenance doses of meds. I know I need these meds to stay stable. I'm sure you pdoc knows what he's talking about.

My pdoc has me on the lowest dose she says is possible. You'd think that if she'd really have me on them for maintenance then she'd raise them to a level that would make more sense. BTW, my pdoc is a she.

Happy Tuesday. I only have a few tasks today. I'm currently enjoying my coffee and checking social media and emails. It's gonna be almost 90 degrees today so I have to monitor the dogs outside activities How's Tuesday looking for you?
