I DO speak openly and freely in this forum and to my shrink, because you guys and him are the only ones who truly understand where I'm coming from. Further, I am SO blessed to have you guys in my world - that I may help any I can, and be helped when I need it most. Thank you all for being here for me!
I wish that I did have friends, even just one friend in real life, so that I could answer this question more appropriately.
In general, though, do I lie? Yes, of course I do, I'm human and I grew up in a big family. When I came along I was the intelligent one, the one not meant to fail, not allowed to fail so I quickly learned to lie in order to protect myself from twisted(physical) discipline and to promote the illusion that they loved me when I did well - they never gave 2 shits about me and that's just the way it is. I do like myself more when I tell the truth, but in order to protect myself from any sort of consequences I won't even hesitate for a moment to tell a lie and I don't give a frak if someone thinks poorly of me because of that or not. In this world, it's me, myself, and I. I wish that there were more to my life, but no one gives a full-time pedestrian in a motorist city even a second glance except perhaps to chuckle. Oh well, I did get a bit off track again:).
I used to be a mouthy, mean, say whatever I feel in the moment, kind of girl!!! I did this without first considering how I might make another feel. Then, I learned to "hide behind" whatever was convenient to excuse my behaviors. Now, I see a bit different side of life.
I am not confused by my disorder anymore and I realize that the "core" of who I am, my persoanlity, my behaviors do not have to be ruled by my disorder in the way that I communicate with others.

It is much what I do now but maybe in a different form. I "hear" how the other person feels, I acknowledge my part in it, and I sincerely ask forgiveness for any wrong I have done. I think it just depends on the situation and which direction you are coming from.
I am much more careful about "reacting" with my emotions and feelings than I used to be. I realize that "reaction" only gets me in trouble and is rarely how I truely feel but how I was triggered. Learning my triggers has helped me communicate better with people also.
I don't feel I lie to anyone anymore but everyone is at a different level of trust in my life. I give what information someone NEEDS to know and I dont sugarcoat or hide behind anything anymore~~~~ xo
Yeah, that is the ticket.
The three that are in my circle of trusted friends, I don't want to start them worrying. Anybody else, they don't really want to know how you are doing. They want you to say 'fine'.
Liar or just a private person???? I don't know, but I'm fine.
