Do certain words trigger you? I have learned not to use certain words around my hubby as he will fly off the hook outrageously.

Hi - I'm new on this site. But my biggest trigger is when my mom says, "how is your condition today."

I'm still shocked that she said it even now...but when I was hospitalised in a group therapy.
I was really bad at the time, put in there for safety and was desprately waiting for meds to kick in.
In the session this therapist turned to me in front of everyone and started picking on me because I hadn't said anything. I have a problem with eye contact and she kept asking me to keep my eyes up looking at her. Then she said "I can feel you digging your heals in just by the way your sitting" (I hadn't said a word!) I just started crying and then she said "Only you can change this you know, but if your happy to stay like this the rest of your life then your going about it the right way."

O_O I was really upset and it just made me worse.

Oh and another big trigger I always get with my Mum is "What are you thinking?"
It's like...I'm Bipolar...I'm thinking a hell of a lot of things right now...
Then she asks me what they are...but you know when you mind is racing with thoughts but there's no way you can tell someone what your thinking because nothing seems to sum up everything enough....argh it's so frustrating! I hate that question.
