Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Maybe a long tern thing to look at ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) Which is part of the mindfulness approaches available in the US and Australia and growing. One of the skills is to break up all sorts or our random thoughts even irrational ones by thinking things like "thinking" thanking your brain for coming up with incredible creative stories etc. It can be a bit of a mind game to get started but does work and gets easier as you go along. There are a few self help books available on it and will explain it better then I could. One in particular The happiness trap - DR Russ Harris, Which I got this out from my local library -Which was part of my CBT homework.
I used to suffer horribly from bad thoughts that wouldn't go
away, Now I've learned to just deliberately change what I'm
thinking, and sometimes I can even make my mind go blank.
I still have times when it doesn't work but with practice it gets
easier. I hope you can find some relief soon. Big Hugs
