Does anyone find any specific type of diet that helps with depression, anxiety, etc? I'm reading the book "Grain Brain" now. I keep reading that going gluten free helps people. Honestly I don't know if I can give up bread. I gave up sugar a few weeks ago and I really don't see any difference in my moods.
I've also read the paleo diet helps people. I just low my carbs too much. I think I'm just desperate to try anything. UGH.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Like tommy said, eat healthy and not in excess , lots of fruits and veggies.
You can not go with out carbs totally, carbs are what feed our brains
More veggies, less meats..lots of water. Hot tea ..green tea, black tea, etc.. Maybe I a becoming British lol with all the tea I am drinking. :-)
I still like me coffee, black. I also cut down on my beer. I to like beer every so often.
The only diet that I had any success with was weight watchers. If you have ever been around a diabetic you can see weight watchers is really close to a diabetic diet. The idea is to not let your insulin spike but rather let it T R I C K L E. Haha. Easier said than done.
You need carbs but too many of the wrong kind (sugar) and your insulin will spike. The right carbs (sweet potatoes, beans, corn) will slowly release insulin and keep you full longer and give you energy.
I don't trust grains but that is probably just a personal hang up. You have to make your own decision about that.
Study the weight watchers diet online. You can follow their diet without joining and it won't cost you anything. All the information you need is on the world wide web. Alternatively, follow a diabetic diet and you will get the same results.
Remember, gradual loss is best and lasting. Quick loss means water loss and muscle loss.
Wishing you luck.

There is, apparently some indication that people with gluten sensitivity can feel depressed or anxious.
There has been some research into certain markers which appear to be common to gluten sensitivity and bipolar. However, the researchers themsleves are still not sure whether this has any implications around the causes or treatment of bipolar.
Of course some people have then taken this, ignored the science, and have then said this proves a link, cause or treatment. But they are completely wrong.
After all, who would know best, someone on the interet or the actually researchers that undertook the study?
