So I have done research and learned that Metformin the diabetic drug will help us loose weight while on antipsychotics, now the problem is how can I get a psych to get me a script of them. I already asked and he don't know any information about it.

If I can't I am probley going to take the non safe way and just take diet pills that will increase metabolism etc. Yea Yea yea I know it could throw me into a manic state and be bad etc.., but what can you do I mean I don't care nothing about gaining 100 pounds so I refuse getting to fat and developing diabetes and heart problems.

I say do the healthy thing. Be good to yourself. Don't put drugs into your body that could be harmful. If you are concerned with your weight - eat less and exercise more. I know it's what everybody says, but they say it for a reason. Do you want to rely on diet pills forever? Sounds like a bad road to go down. I say do the healthy thing. Eat very carefully and never go a day without sufficient exercise. Be kind to yourself.

please the drugs we take give us brain damage what could be more harmful than that. Research I have done mine.

I take Bee Pollen Pills and B12, But they made me very Hyper... I get a lot done those.

I feel your pain. Ever since I went on Lithium I have gained a ton of weight. I would ask your doctor about Topomax. A lot of doctors use it in conjunction with psych meds to control weight. I am allergic to Topomax.

Im so sorry to hear that, Fearless. The risk of weigh gain was why I won't use lithium, cause thyroid issue already run in my family. I'm sorry you can't use Topamax. :( But I use Topamax as a mood stabilizer for my bipolar, and for the side effect of weight loss. It seems to be working well.

I agree doing it the natural way, exercise and changing your diet. when I was Seroquel I had the appetite of a T-Rex. Would have gained a ton of weight if it weren't for exercise and changing my diet. Having fruit, bag fulls of sugar snap peas and drinking lots of water kept my weight around the 150'ish range.

I was on Metforman while I was taking the antipsyhcotic med , Zyprexa....I still gained 27 Lbs in about 3 weeks.

And the Metforman really gave me uncontrollable gas...as in public farting uncontrollably

I am off both the Zyprexa and Metforman, and have lost almost all the weight I gained....and no more public humiliations

DD you are sooooooo funny. I thot PF was normal!

I went to the gym 3 days a week and a nutritionist and took off 30 pounds when I was on bad wweight gaining drugs.

If you have any savings or credit you really dont want to get too high. I get up just a little and throw hundred dollar bills around. And you could always crash.

Please dont take the pills. Go out and get a nice pair of pants and a pretty top. Some new mascara. We all care about you.

I don't have to crap much so I know there is pounds of crap stored in me so I think I might try just taking lots of fiber and a supplement called hoodia. I am also thinking green tea capsules to speed up my metabolism.
