Seriously awesome. My bf and I read some articles together in their relationship section (of course I cried and got emotional because there are some HEAVY hearted stuff on there) but yes, everyone with BP should def check it out ;)

It's probably a cultural thing but I find that site just too slick and it feels like I'm being sold something and when I read things like

"#1 Dangerous, aggressive and violent behavior in bipolar disorder

I work with parents and partners of those with bipolar disorder. In the majority of situations, people who are in a strong dysphoric manic episode can be dangerous, aggressive and violent. Physical assault and weapons are not uncommon"

I stop reading.

Fish- I get IMMENSELY violent in a bad manic episode. Its not untrue, So im not really sure I understand what you are saying? Everyone is different and just because there are people who have BP and do NOT get violent, doesn't mean its uncommon for people who do get violent in episodes. Idk, maybe I'm misunderstanding....

Ive been arrested off my meds in a bad manic episode for battery and assault. I mean, they're not lying lol

I guess I too get tired of all the bad press and the exaggeration of BP behaviour portrayed by the media and the scaremongering. Most of us are not violent or aggressive - some are and there is quite frequently something else at play in these situations - drug use/BPD etc.

Irish- yeah I mean everyone is different and everyone's situation is different, you are def right about different factors contributing to those types of behavior.
