I feel a depression coming on and do not want to go down that path. I have lost all my motivation to do anything and it is frustrating me. Any suggestions on how to stop myself from going down the tunnel of depression would great.

You may recall I write that my sister and he husband were in an affair with my brothers wife. It's been almost a year. Mom last week asked me to invite my sisters boys to a birthday at my house for my brothers daughter. I was on my way to pick up the boys when my mom called and told me to turn around. Apparently my brother didn't know my nephews were coming and he was livid. I came home to a...

Second you can try your best to act opposite to the emotion and do things anyways..if not all the things you want then just pick a few each day. It means for instance watch a funny movie and and then tell yourself funny positive thoughts..like "I am a hot tamale".
Wash your dishes anyways and look at the pretty soap bubbles and all the different colors..bring your mind back to that when it drifts.
Take a walk...I know you may not want to but it will help you get the light you need...and the endorphins will be stimulated. Dance around your house. Sing!!!
Go out in public..because in depression you need stimulated.
Pushing yourself to do Something , always helps .

I try just to think - Today sucks, maybe if I try and hold on, do something different - I won't lay down for weeks, maybe sleep one day, maybe NOT!
Best tool for me, is again - not plan an "Episode" "depression" "month of despair" If I go down, its not because I "saw it coming" its because nothing I tried worked, and maybe it will be my swings will be Shorter and Fewer, if I fight them, and fight harder!!!
Sometimes, being bipolar with a sick brain - we have no choices, we are getting depressed, manic etc - but sometimes, having knowledge, like seeing it coming - gives me power to do something different, try harder ((((BIG HUG)))) It sucks, but we understand - and it's a war, some battles we win - some we lose, but its requires a good fight on our part - meds, coping skills, awareness, acceptance and Action....
I love the old saying - if you always do, what you always done - you'll always get, what you always got.....
Hold on, push and I always recommend - try something different, make new mistakes! so, glad your here - sharing with you, reminds me what I need to work on, and how far I've come! We are all different, and yet - so much in common!!!! xoxo
I think Gina nailed it....
Fall is usually a time where I trip up with the time change so I have put "planning" into my tool bag.
Two things that really help me on the way down or when I'm down is: 1) Exercise even walking more...anything
2) Not isolating reaching out to others and if possible getting face time with a friend, going to a support group, visiting a relative who is kind
Last but not least boost up on self care. How's your sleep? How's your diet going? How about your stress? Can these be contributing?
Good for you for seeing what is going on and reaching out! I really hope this means you can avert it!
Realize it's the end of the world and you need to RUN!!! (or bicycle or quickly walk) to gather supplies and prepare for the worst.
Assemble an awesome kick-ass play list.
Play everyday until you're convinced you could survive a zombie apocalypse -- gradually you'll just feel better about everything and Abel Township will appreciate your efforts. :-) ((Hugs))
I have been pushing myself today to get things done. It is helping a little bit. I am trying to just see the humor in things and to be thankful for the little things.. Like my baby attempt at crawling..
