Hey Dalton2016! I can absolutely appreciate the trial and error process as I'm going through it myself. I cannot speak to Abilify though I can speak to Depakote. For me, I had a lot of negative side effects on Depakote. I gained twenty-five pounds and experienced a significcant amount of hair loss. My pdoc then transitioned me to Lithium which seems to be working better without all the side effects (though it might be too soon to tell as the transition is fairly recent). I will say too that my spirits seem more lifted on it. Our bodies are all so different and I wish you the best of luck in finding a med combination that is going to work best for you!

I appreciate it very much! Today is Day 4 of this combo and I can really feel a 'normal' per say. I'm starting to feel balanced, and not to up or down, just perfect. I'm enjoying life. Still making me pretty tired, but nothing a short--term use of energy drinks can't solve until these side effects wear off. Yea that sounds like that would suck. I've been on Depakote for awhile, if anything alone it just tends to make me depressed. I don't blame you if you were gaining a bunch of weight, and loosing hair. Good luck to you as well! :D

I added Abilify to my Effexor XR and Lamictal. Knock on wood I've been stable for a long time now. I tried to go off Abilify and I got extremely anxious. so my pdoc put me back on it. This particular cocktail has worked for me so I'm really happy with the Abilify. I didn't do well on Depakote either.
