I am on the same dose. I take one in the morning and one at night. I like it. It works for me.

Yah, I was on that one. I was on 600mg. I don't know if it worked or not because I had such terrible tremors. I could not even hold a pen. Watch out for the side effects.

My doctor just put me on Depakote ER, I take 250mg in the am and 250mg in the pm. He said it was a low dose to start off. He also gave me Zyprexa which I take at night which helps me sleep. Yesterday was the first night I was on the meds and the Zyprexa did help me sleep. I hope these work out for me because I am tired of trying new meds.

i am on depakote er at 250 mg and and my doctor has me taking 2 in the morning and 4 at night and i just started yesterday taking two in the morningand i had been taking the four at night for about a week and i started having sideaffects to it yesterday and now i cant get a hold of my doctor to talk to her she is out of the office on fridays and mondays. and i dont know what to do.

I was on depakote it was my first med and I personally didn't do well, it might have worked well for me at some point but it made me so sleepy and I was driving allot at the time for work, and it kinda scared me I stopped taking it for that reason. I stopped taking it suddenly and had halusinations after.

My doc put me on 1500 mg, BUT told me to ease myself up to it. 500 mg 1x a day for a week, then 1000 mg 1x a dayo for a week, then up to the 1500.

Have you all tried lamictal, it works pretty well for me. My doc said people who have bipolar should be on stabilizers , never antidepressants....... well and something for sleep and anxiety. she said it could cause suicidal thoughts....... i know theyh made me feel terrible. Don't mean to scare anyone, That is just what my doctor said. I was on so many from another doctor. depakote , celexa, trazadone,abilify, paxil ,lamictal and one more all at the same time , not counting my xanax and ambien. My new doct took me off slowly and im just on lamictal and xanax and ambien as needed. I think some doctors puts patients on way too much meds , they don't know which med isdoing what, they put youon so much at one time. I was like a leaf in the blowing wind, had the shakes all the time.. I hope you get your meds worked out. I said all this so we all should be aware. I take 2500 mill at night before bed no you dose is normal it will kick in a few days

I take 500mg of depakote er twice a day. I've been on it for over a month and I don't think it's working for me. Hope it works for you.

Im on 1250, mg per day this is my max at the moment. I also take 40 mg fluoextine.
This helps me makes me sickly and I have to have blood tests for my liver and kidneys. All in all feeling a lot better.

I was on depakote for three months. I took 500 mg three times a day. I had to stop taking it because it caused lucid horrific nightmares.

I only take 250 and my doc said its low dose, so 500 sounds ok, but am not a doc of course. Take care, dee.

I'm weaning off Depakote. I was at 500mg 2x day. Made my body ache from head to toe. The doc says this isn't normal, but hey.....I don't know what's next, I've been on so many and can't take anti-depressants. Good luck!
