for the past three years now my leg seems to go to sleep on me when sitting for long periods of time not always randomly and its very painful to wake it up! I have tried more water different sitting positions and asked my doctor he wasn't to concerned could this be another lithium symptom?

I have a lifelong habit of sitting with my legs crossed. The leg I habitually fold first does this. Watching this habit has worked, but that leg remains more vulnerable than the other. I figure it is just that the habit is decades old. Cumulative payback. :-O

The left outside of my leg from hip to knee is completely numb due to back surgery. You may want to rule out some kind of nerve issue. Small doses of gabapentin may help. Something I would tell your doctor for sure.

Doh, seen that you already mentioned it to your doctor. I hate when they respond like that, basically they are saying they don't know what the issue is.
