We got no support groups for bi-polar or depression where I live in good old Vermont--that is why I am so thankful I found DS and all of you folks.

There's one in Bennington, VT. That doesn't give you many options, and I don't know where in VT you live...maybe you could start your own chapter!

But I'm glad that you're on here. The more support on here the better!

I am waaay up north in Vermont so Bennington is pretty far for me. I have actually thought about starting my own local chapter, just not sure how to go about it. I should look into that further. Thanks, H.

I have driven an hour from home to go to a DBSA meeting, there web site tells you where the meetings are, they have a contact person if you want to start your own chapter. I will share one thing though, their forum, some of the oldies on there are not very nice, thats why I came to DS, they can be very crictical instead of encouraging, just thought I'd share that

We are starting a chapter in rural Mississippi and I know there are plenty of people who would like to participate. Don't go it alone, find a group...or start one. You'll become a victim of your own success if you do.

Also NAMI.org sponsors groups also.

I will drive an hour to go to the groups in Belmont on Wednesday. There are groups closer in Worcester, but the Belmont, MA group is huge since it is held at McLean Hospital.

Thanks for posting. DBSA has provided so much help for me including helping me find providers.

I've been going on and off to the one in San Diego for awhile. I've gotten a lot of support and good info there.

We have a very well attended one up north-der-hay in SE WI. It has helped my family and others immensely. Don't know that I could actually start one as some of you have desired, but it is well worth the visit.

We have some great moderators.

oh yeah, if you start one of these, you better be able to reign in the talkers as they have a tendency to eat up the group time real quick.

    I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort.
