Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I thought I'd drop in and let people know where this beeper has been. It was nearly 3 years ago I talked about going to school to become a Psychiatrist. Life has a way of testing you and your dreams, needless to say. Well I'm now Quarter one in for that Bachelors in Chemistry. I have been stable for years now on a low dose for Lithium and Strattera (for ADHD).
I also met a woman I apparently use to go to high school with, though some how we never met despite several friends in common. She is just the right dose of rocker chick and nerd for me (she has her bachelors in the Classics and speaks Ancient Greek and Latin.) I had come to this point where I want to forgo serious relationships until after I got some where with school, but her company proved too tempting to pass up, and I can honestly say her presence has actually helped the drive to actually go to school.
So all in all, what I'm saying is I've been stable for about 2 solid years now on a low dose of lithium. I try to keep my body healthy with work and walking, though I'm no saint. For those who wonder, it is possible to find balance with medicine so you are stable but not drugged.
Anyways, I don't know how anal they are now about posts, so I'm posting this as a journal too. I love you all.
