It was bad in NJ last year as well. No tricksters that year. If I can remember correctly, the town threw a big Halloween Party for them at the high school the following weekend.

My son and his friends are now "too old" (at age 13!!) to go trick or treating. They're having a party at a friend's house instead. No costumes, lots of candy. Lol.

Great idea to get the schools to have in school Halloween for the little ones.
I love the sound of babys n children laughter. and peddle patty of 3 yr olds running through house playing.
Now I mise those times dressing up my children n my friends children in their holiday outfits. some of my friends would have sewing get together, through out the year, for children partys n Halloween. For holidays I use to make home made candy/sweets.
I mise those days. now it is no mise take that people no longer socialize nor talk in person, face to face. it has taken only 20ty yrs to get people to dehumanize everybody.
1 more thing for those who bake n make candy. use less sugar salt oil. 1 egg instead of 2. 2 eggs instead of 3 in recipes. Unsweeten apple sauce is great subsitute to use to make cakes...

In-school Halloween parties are a WONDERFUL idea! I wish more schools would do it.

These next few months aren't going to be fun trying to sleep

children go house to house anymore. Those days are long gone.

Kids still go out trick-or-treating. We get between 60-100 kids coming to our door every year. They don't care if it's nice or raining out they still go. The only difference from when we were kids is I see a lot of parents going with them.

We have been getting fewer and fewer every year as the neighborhood kids have grown. I still buy candy, just in case. Our Halloween tradition is to order pizza and watch scary movies (and eat candy after we turn the porch light off!) We carve jack-o-lanterns in the afternoon and put them in the living room to enjoy on Halloween night.

I loved trick or treating as a child and I am sad that it's going the way of the dodo bird. I wholeheartedly approve of parents going with their kids for the activity but the lazyass parents who trail behind in the car crack me up. Our neighborhood is so small.

I grew up in MA and we went out in the rain, snow, sleetit didn't matter. We were going to get our treats. 70% chance of rain isn't 100% and 45 isn't too bad. Hope you see lots of little monsters coming around for some treats.
