My mom told me that. Then again, she is one of those people that doesn't really believe depression is a real thing you need to treat with medicine. She told me "I never noticed anything when you were a kid". Just becuase you didn't notice doesn't mean it wasn't there...

really?my mum is in deline but over time she is getting better*only cuz my anut is bipolar* It was clear as a child i was the one to snap at the littlest thing

People(friends,family) always look at me like I've grown a third head when I tell them I have BP OR BPD. So I keep it to myself as much as I can. But sometimes thats just not an option.

I should have added though I was always concider the odd one in the family.

I had a drug addict sister who was a very out of control teenager. All the focus was on her. I always put so much pressure on myself to be the "good" child. School was easy for me so I got good grades, and just never got caught when I did things I wasn't supposed to. I learned from my two sisters' mistakes, I guess. I was always a very shy & quiet kid too.

All the time, I hide it very well. I am very well medicated most of the time. and I don't tell people. Tom

i told a friend of mine about it recently and her response was 'you couldn't be depressed with that lovely figure and those two beautiful new dresses.' lol. some people are just not ready to be told.

Most people say something along the lines of "That explains a lot". And others say "I could have told you that years ago". Then others say "I never would have guessed".

It all depends on the person, the timing and whatever mood Im in at the time.

My symptoms came on kind of suddenly, for the full blown BP. I didn't have to say anything. I worked in the medical field though. My big boss (boss's boss) actually walked up to me one day and asked if I needed to take some time off.

It was no big surprise in my family, I was nearly the final person to be dx'd with BP. My son was the only one that was dx'd after me. Otherwise, my whole immediate family has it.

I tried so hard to be the "good", the "normal" one. I was proud that I kept my $h*t together for so long. But that all came crashing down, and luckily everyone understood it.
