Of course, you weren't as close to him as your husband, so the depth of emotion won't be the same. And, for some of us, just being around that emotional depth is uncomfortable. But Being There is important.
Sometimes we have what I call "misplaced emotions", meaning that we watch others and know what we are supposed to feel, but it doesn't happen for us at the same time, or in the same way.
Ask anyone who has experienced a loss and had the "well-meaning" comfort of others; they will tell you some people have No Idea what to say, but they say it anyway! And it isn't always helpful stuff...you know?
Give him a hug, and a shoulder to lean on, and you'll make him happier than anything you could say.

My heart goes out to you sweetie. I know that kind of pain. i wish i had the words to say that would bring you some comfort. But i'm at a loss for them.
I agree 100% with jonjuan. Do something you really enjoy. Even if you have to force yourself. I think that would help.
I know sometimes i have to force myself & I'm always glad i did. All the pain my not go away right away but just keep trying. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Hang in there. You can get through this.
Sometimes changes like this can set us back as BP's. It happens to me sometimes.
Be sure to talk to your dr as soon as you can& let him know whats going on. Sometimes changes like this could cause changes in you & affect you med's. I know this because it has happened to me before.

After all they are upset because they miss him so he must have been a good man how lovely is that.
