Good morning,
Wanted to ask yall how you have personally controlled your weight being on bp meds...?
I'm on Depakote now & I currently have an injured leg that's preventing me from walking well. So I don't think I can do much exercise. I also struggle with acid reflux & there are a lot of foods I cannot eat.
I would really appreciate your thoughts, help & advice.

You may recall I write that my sister and he husband were in an affair with my brothers wife. It's been almost a year. Mom last week asked me to invite my sisters boys to a birthday at my house for my brothers daughter. I was on my way to pick up the boys when my mom called and told me to turn around. Apparently my brother didn't know my nephews were coming and he was livid. I came home to a...

Thanks for the advice!!!
Eating in small plates with a tea spoon. By doing this, you eat smaller portions and you eat slowly so by the time you finish eating , you feel full.
Eating healthy : lots of veggies and fish , tuna in particular . Salmon is great too.Lots of eggs.
Eating a huge salad bowl with 4-5 types of veggies. Add a little italian sauce.
Bought measuring spoons for portion control.
LOGGING my meals in app : my fitness pal , on my cell. The most important advice I can give is to log your meals.
Good luck :)
Now, since I have time, I am taking the opportunity to walk. Brisk walks around 3.2 miles. Every day or skipping a day when my legs are hurting. Also, I am not going to eat corporate food i.e. fast food. My portion control sucks. However, I have to really work on that. Lots of water though, no colas, sodas etc...no juices. I stopped colas long ago.
Sugar is the worse. I do partake in a beer or three every so often. It's my little treat. I know I should not. Coffee, I have to curb that. The caffeine is just making my head race.
But I think no fast food, and no colas is a good start for anyone. And also some brisk walking...just my two cents ;-)
I'm needing to lose about 40 lbs. so I feel better and reduce stress on my joints.
The only thing that worked for me in the past was writing down my food ahead of time and sticking to it! Also making sure I got enough protein in each meal that helped me get to the next meal without eating in between.
Eating a lot less of things made with sugar and white flour was important too.
Exercise is important to me I could have kness issues if I'm not careful so that is motivating me to lose weight.
Good luck it's a great endeavor of self care! Come back and tell us how you are doing...
