my pdoc said it could help me in as few as a couple of days...it's been a couple of days. Can a girl get a break?

i was on both of those. it didnt work for me. i believe now i've got that damn akethesia from the abilify :( hurts like hell! hope all goes well for you on it.

I used to be on it when I shook from abilify. I'm still on abilify but no longer shake and no longer have to take cogentin. I don't know why that is. Anyway to your question. It helped me at the time and took several days to kick in as I recall.

I take it along with my haldol. It really works for me well. I hope it takes away your shakiness. Hugs.

My pdoc does not particularly like Abilify because of the high rate of akathisia - up to 25% of people who use it as an add on for antidepressants and 19% for BPs according to the info from the manufacturers of Abilify. If it works for you though, then it is awesome. I had a nasty nasty case once I hit 20mg. Anyways my new pdoc also does not like cogentin for akathisia. I used it when I was on abilify and it really did very little for me. It helped, but minimally - my old pdoc was a firm believer in it. My new pdoc says propranolol, artane, and amantadine are much better than cogentin & cogentin is better for things like dystonia. Just my 2 cents. Hope it gets better & yours is only mild.
