So I want to touch on all subjects and try to get peoples whoever wants to chime in or have a little bit of advice or been through it. So I have lived with my mom all my life until three years ago. She moved out of state and I kind of had to force myself to live out on my own not my choice but I'm telling you it was the best decision. It was very hard because I found myself questioning myself all the time about all the decisions I had to make I would always ask my mom if her opinion before I acted upon what I needed to get done I am glad that by 31 I was able to recognize that being out and doing my own thing would be the right choice I've never been married and I don't have children so this was pretty hard decision especially when I was codependent on my mom so much. This has helped me to MoveOn and do more things for myself but I never imagined I would be able to do at first I thought it was a Curse I thought it was a bad thing she was doing that to me what is the normal thing to do when you get older you separate you do your own thing and live your own life I don't know if anybody else experienced something like this before but I know this was one of the roughest patches of my life but I got over it and I'm doing just fineDon't get me wrong I love my mom to death but I don't think it was a healthy to stay with her much longer she wanted to travel and I had other things I wanted to do I was working and juggling a social life so all in all worked out for us both and put a lot of pressure off our relationship just food for thought for myself thought I'd share

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Parents that want to continue rescuing their adult children constantly IMHO aren't doing their adult children any favours and it holds the parent back as well
As you wrote your mom wanted to travel and do other things
They won't be here forever and it really steals their young adulthood by not allowing them to grow up and make their own choices and stand on their own 2 feet
It's great to have your own first place and having a lot of pressure off of the relationship must feel nice...
I have a close girlfriend who's daughter isn't well due to drugs and she is super codependent.... She spends her whole life fretting and worrying about her daughter and swooping in to rescue her repeatedly.... It's no good for either of them... It's toxic really
You Go Girl!!.... xo
It's wonderful that you have a great relationship with your mom... I did with my mom as well and I still miss her all the time..... Big hug.....xo
I
So I'm very independent and have always been very independent, for me growing up it was a survival skill. Co-dependancy was not an option, that just got you hurt more, stuck more or dead.
I'm glad you've figured out how to do things on your own and are doing well! Keep up the great work!!!
