I am sitting in the middle of a HUGE pile of clothes trying to sort through them and figure out how to fit them in a TEENY TINY closet and one loney dresser and more so trying to figure out how to put all my emotions in this one lonely room I am living in.
I have moved back in with my parents after leaving my husband who in addition to having a laundry list of issues mental wise is also a unrealized to himself alcoholic. I finally had enough and left. Funny I never left during the worst of his unmedicated psychotic episodes, but I left because of his abuse or cowards suicide of drinking himself to death.
I am left actually having to deal with my own issues. Issues I have conveniently shoved in the deep darkest parts of my mind hoping if I ignored them they would just go away. Nope not happening.
I want my life back, my premarried life back. I want my body back. I want my name back. I want what I had before, but this time I know how to do it and what to avoid.
This really doesn't have a question and I am not even really asking for any sort advice just wanted it out there...

You said and I am taking liberties with the following:
I want my life back (snipped the pre married part).
I want my body back (working on this so far lost 75 pounds)
want what I had before ( I don't feel I can ever go back there and be the person I was but the person I will become will be happier and more settled over all I think)
this time I know how to do it and what to avoid.
Avoid procrastination at all costs and avoid avoiding my problems and sticking my head so far down the center of the earth and into the sand that I will NEVER in a million years find myself again.
Above all ASK FOR HELP WHEN YOU NEED SOMETHING. It's not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength to do so.
Alcoholism runs in my family. I have at least one family member on a collision course with a powder keg of alcohol, benzos, pain killers (narcotics) and the newest addition to his "collision course family" a permit to carry a hand gun and the gun itself.
This is where my radical acceptance comes in. http://www.dbtselfhelp.com/html/radical_acceptance_text.html if you'd like to read what is written there about radical acceptance. It's not easy to do and it is HARD but anything worth having (including feelings but not limited to them) is worth getting the help you need IMO. I don't know whether or not radical acceptance is or is not for you. I'm just saying I think the DBT will be worth it for me and that although we may love our addicts we can not allow ourselves to sit in the same home with them and watch them commit slow suicide (I like to call it suicide on the layaway plan) we have to save ourselves FIRST and that sounds like what you are doing. You did not cause his illnesses and you can't cure them only he can do something about it if he is willing. Until he is ready to take the steps needed it just won't work. I do hope you can get yourself sorted out and get the help you need. It sounds like you are going in the right direction. HUGS
I admire your strength and determination. Welcome to your new life. :)
