Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Does anyone else out there who is a Christian believer struggle with having a consistent relationship with Jesus during the highs and lows of life with bipolar disorder?
I've been diagnosed for 3.5 years ... had a mental breakdown nine months before that ... while overseas doing my best to serve God and His people. And in most of the time since that breakdown, I've struggled to stay connected with God--unless I'm experiencing hypomania. Which makes me really distrust my spiritual experiences.
Any input or advice for me?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

When my folks were sick and they went through some miserable struggles at the end this had a huge impact on me and my relationship with God because I just didn't 'feel him'
I went and discussed it with a minister and he said to me you don't have to 'feel him... You just have to know he's there" and that helped me a great deal to this day
There are Christian groups on this site as well if you'd be interested.... Big hug.... xo
Thank you for sharing your struggle it helps knowing I'm not the only one who feels the effects of this illness this way.. I am getting ready to start therapy with a mental health professional but he is also a believer from my church so as I learn things I'd be happy to share...
