Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I was training to become a counsellor when I fell ill this time. I would think the most important aspects would be
empathy, understanding, a safe place to explore your issues.
hope the cbt works for you

-Someone who is available if there is a crisis. That's an important one for me.
-Someone who will not let me get away with my bullsh*t. There are times when I will just give up on some of my CBT skills and she'll push me to be sure that I use them.
-Someone who will HELP me figure out what skills to use in specific situations.
-Someone kind and empathetic. I don't expect a therapist to necessarily understand what I am experiencing but at least show support in specific situations.
Maybe he was on meds?
