as a kid i mean

my mum said i wasnt weird.
i asked her the other day.
stroppy and moody but not weird.

i dont know.
but im not diagnosed.

I only ask because I didn't start getting major depressive episodes until later. Maybe these behaviours were a precursor to BP

I never went to a psychiatrist until I was an adult, however, looking back I really think all the symptoms were their and noone realized it. I ran away, had wide mood swings, started having sex at an early age, drinking and doing drugs at an early age. I was a uncontrollable teen. It wasn't until i was 27 and got help myself that I got put on lithium, and began to explore the reasons why. Bingo, Genetics!!!! my dad is schizophrenic his father was depressive and committed suicide and my granfathers sister was hospitalized for hysteria numerous times.. Wow, its amazing what we find out when we go to therapy and unleash the skeletons in the closet.

the whole idea is very controversial....I was pretty imaginative and hyperactive at times, but isn't that being a kid. Guess I'm skeptical.

I was very moody, very sad or very hyper and imaginative, my mother reminds of what a mistake I was! Gee, thanks mom for all the drugs and drinking you did while you were pregnant with me!

Hyper hyper, super smart, persistant, stuttering, agressive and angry outbursts, attention seeking, moody, sensitive.To name a few :((

Some similar stuff here, mgrub, language and attention problems. Laugh, I'm battling with the attention thing today. I'm supposed to be working on a class!

I've been bp for as long as I can remember. I always felt different, have always been moody, tried to...not going to talk about that.

I began having panic attacks at about 7 or 8 years old. Got excellent grades & scored very high on the IQ test, yet I had a lot of difficulty with socializing. Things got progressively worse through elementary school & then my first major depressive episode hit by 7th grade. I attempted suicide & was hospitalized for 2 weeks at the age of 13. In retrospect, I believe that BP manifested very early for me.

I had an epileptic seisure when I was 5 and again when I was 11. I was always a 'thinker' and very creative. I had many people around me but often felt alone, like no-one understood me. I was also very disturbed by the likes of a presence in my bedroom at night. I would often wake and be frozen in fear because I was convinced that someone was behind me. I think I was just an overall fruitcake really. :oP

I had OCD as a child, the kind where you have to do little rituals every so often. I kept to myself because I didn't feel like I was part of the human race. I don't remember feeling any happiness but I did feel extreme sadness and a sense of rejection from adutls and children alike. I went from sad to severely depressed, those were the only 2 emotions I had.
