Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

So as most of you know my tdoc and pdoc have yet to agree with each other on my actual diagnosis and every now and again hint at co-morbidity. I had an appt with pdoc yesterday and she basically said my depression is brought on by my negative thoughts and that i have control over my moods because 'it's not caused by a chemical or hormonal imbalance like with some people'. I'm not sure how to take that. It felt like she was saying I make myself depressed and by thinking butterfly and rainbow thoughts the world will brighten. Now I really do try to be positive when i'm feeling blue but I'm sure y'all know how hard that can be.
So, can someone help me understand these two disorders a little better? I've done the research but I'm still thoroughly confused. Does anyone here have both disorders and can maybe tell me a bit about it and how you know which is affecting you at what time? (Assuming that's possible)

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I think if you are bipolar it can be any type of therapy. I've known people do CBT, JUngian which are possibly as far apart as you can get.
For bipolar though it's more about managing bipolar in your life and life in general, it does not "treat" bipolar.
People with BPD definitely face prejudice from pdocs and tdocs, I've been told by a couple of pdocs and tdocs that they will not treat patients with BPD.
