I expect you have other symptoms at those times and ideally your meds should stop you from straying into hypomania. Sometimes there are things you can take additionally to bring you back down.

Hopefully you have an open honest line of communication with your wife in which case you are in a much safer situation than you could be where youre hypomanic and are out sleeping with everything that walks. Unlike some people I know. Who will remain nameless. But seriously you are lucky to have someone who (hopefully) understands you and you can compromise and talk and work out something that works best for both.

the only time it ever went out of control l was unmedicated and thankfully never cheated but walked a fine line towards it though every emotion in my head and heart was telling me to leave for someone better it was because of DS that l never did see it through and l woke up a few days later feeling like me again and very ashamed, thankgod for meds and the people here.

Talk to your wife, your pdoc and tell us don't skip off feeling great and wondering if your darling wife really does love you, tell us first how you feel remember that it grounded me and stopped a nightmare from happening, but hopefully meds will help you out as they have me and the rest of us.
