Bipolar and mild paranoia?

I haven't posted in a while but I have a question. Has anyone else had issues with mild paranoia?

For example, if I am left at home by myself after dark, I get really concerned that someone is going to break in or sometimes I get a really strong suspicion that there are cameras in my house.

They aren't as strong as delusions where I am not aware that these things are fictional, but it is enough to make me super uncomfortable.

I know I am not schizophrenic, because I don't present any of the other symptoms really, and this could just be misplaced severe anxiety. I just wanted to know what you guys think. I see my pdoc soon so I can ask her, but I'd like to know what you guys' experiences were like. Thanks!

Most certainly ask your doc about it but it sounds like high anxiety to me.

paranoia is common to bipolar, mild or not. it is one of the things that can be successfully medicated for, so please bring it up to your pdoc.

I experienced noticeable paranoia when I was smoking pot. When I quit smoking pot, no more paranoia.

Thanks for the words of support guys. I am just a little freaked out by it.

My anxiety is absolutely through the roof anyway, so maybe it is as simple as that. My klonopin is not even touching it though. I feel like I am losing it slowly....

I get a load of paranoia. I would say mild to moderate. Its never been to the level of delusional, but it is still very real. I agree with those here that connect it with anxiety. I had never really thought of it in those terms, but now I see it.

paranoia is not fun... mine has been more severe when my situation is worse. if i dont trust those around me, it can get bad, i become a major sleuth.. and have a hard time functioning because i am too busy looking over my shoulder.

i feel for you, this is not a fun part of bp or schizo
