Is there anyone in here who knows anything about/have any experiences of the relation between bipolar and menopause - if episodes are more easily triggered, enhanced, intensified, whatever, during menopause??? PLEASE - any input you may have is VERY welcome!!! Research, personal experiences - anything!!

It's like bipolar disorder on steroids in some ways. It's been four years since I became menopausal and most of the time I feel like the intensity has subsided a bit. Of course, I'm also in the second year of grieving a broken marriage so it's hard to sort out what's what.
In any case, I wish you daily strength and patience with yourself. This too shall pass and life goes on. Hang in there! Hugs!

I was a HAPPY HAPPY hypomanic person all through my 20's 30's and 40's......at 52, had my first major breakdown ...also started menopause......
So. I'll never know if it was menopause or just psychosis that sent me to see a Pdoc.
In any event , good luck, and yes I believe hormonal issues and BP are closely related
