I'm sorry you are having a hard time sleeping...me tooo...wondering where the moon is in it's cycle, when it gets to full, I loose sleep. For me, sleep is essential to keeping my head on my shoulders, if I don't sleep I go into walking zombie mode and thought processing comes to a halt because of thick fog head.
So hoping what I do will help! First no long naps during the day. I do allow myself a 20-30 minute meditation from utube this meditation is what I listen to 1 hr before bed, as I read a book....No Computer, tv...stimulates the brain...I also take my meds before bed, no sleeping aid, only 3 mg of melatonin, a cup of warm milk with chamomile tea or a relaxing tea. I try to go to bed at the same time, with same routine. If I do wake up, mind chatter, I will journal (keep on in my bed) and get whatever is in there out. Then read a book, if still not falling asleep, I get up and read a book with quiet music. Then take my hour long meditation music back to bed, cover up screen...I do go out. I also have my alarm clock turned around so I can't see the hour, this helps A Lot with sleepless anxiety...hope you have a better night tonight :) best, ml

Welcome to DS it can be a great place to both get and give support. Sometimes we can all benefit from our collective experience. I live on the west coast of the US so I'm pretty much always last to most discussions...
I think sleep is bedeviling to most of us. I certainly go through my own struggles. I have found that Melotonin helps rest the circadian clock easing off caffeine also helps....I was in a sleep study and the recommended going to sleep the same time each night as much as possible and taking an hour before hand to cool down...no phone calls and no screens.
It helped me slowly to reset my clock....anyway welcome!
