Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Beyond Medication is a group that I started a couple of years ago but due to another illness I was unable to continue keeping the group going.
The group was meant to be both a teaching group as well as support group. The premise of the group was any member to be able to share their experience with life skills that they have used in order to deal with Symptoms of their Bipolar episodes. To recognize them before they hit and use these skills to defuse the episode.
Some of the methods that can be used are mindfulness, meditation, grounding, guided meditation, music, prayer Yoga and whatever other methods people have used to break the cycle of episodes.
Beyond medication is a group to help people through tough times associated with bipolar episodes, it is not designed to replace medication but to work with the medication by providing life skills.
My experience in these areas come from my time in DBT and individual therapy as well as my own spiritual experience.
If people are interested you can let me know by responding to this thread or by contacting me through personal message.
Thank you
The Wolf.
