Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
while driving down a highway at 70MPH, I crawled out of the drivers side passenger window across the roof and into the front seat of the passenger side of the car.
On one occasion I decided we needed a bathroom in our basement and broke up all the concrete floor for it over a night.. I did however finish that project, took a year but the bathroom is really nice.
Then I developed a wig obsession.
Then pillow collecting. And we can go on & on.
I don't do much while manic anymore, just take bus rides across the country. Once I thought I could fix all the water (and health) problems in a central American country and went to Manic lengths to tell them about it...
Jumping onto moving trains or trying to foil the plans of imaginary drug lords just sounds so Far Off anymore...does that mean I'm Old?
(and, Jesus - I wish Patrick would respond to this with some of his Milder stories...gah)
In my younger days, I did flash my boobs at passing cars on a street corner in the middle of the night, thinking it was really funny. I was with a friend and what ended up happening was we were mistaken for hookers and I got the police called on me by some lady who stopped, but I ran away before they got there....lol And yes, I was totally sober, just completely manic and high on life. I guess I wanted to pretend it was Mardi Gras even if it was summer and I live in California....lol
Anyways, i walked to the middle to write my name in the snow on the ice, so that everyone who crossed the foot bridge, would see my name. Needless to say, River never really freeze over, as the rushing water beneath keeps it from freezing more than a couple of inches. I got.. M.... A... R... and at the Y..... the ice and snow around me in a circle started turing black.... I was sinking.
It was like.... being seriously HIGH and then getting pulled over by the cops. BIG REALITY CHECK. THEN, when I ran over to the edge to get up (5 foot breakwall) I couldnt get up..... I had to wait till a stranger came by and saw me there, and I asked for help.
Fuct-up-est think Ive ever done while manic.
I have a tendency to drive with absolutely no destination during the night when I'm manic and can't sleep, then the manic starts to grow more rapidly and I start to consider finding 24 hour tattoo shops...
...That's when I use my logical side, take a milligram of Xanax, head home, crawl into bed with my guy and start crying. (I'm an extremely rapid cycler)
That's without a doubt not the "craziest" thing I've ever done while manic... just how my most recent episodes have played out.
