My days are for the most part spent alone. I seem to have problems more often when I am. My mind wonders too easy and It plays tricks on my leaving me confused. When Im with my husband I rarely ever have problems do you think it helps when you feel safe because I do when Im with him.
Does everyone tell their dr. or counciler everything. I will have a bad experiance be it hearing voices or just becoming confused and scared.
I will have plans of telling them but when I go in they say well how have you been? I will much of the time just say good.sometimes it hard to explain my thoughts and feelings. I always regret not telling but i still dont tell.

I do the same thing, I don't have enough time in my sessions to get into details of my condition so I don't. I don't consider this wrong . It would take too much time to get into this, so I don't .

I asked the same question yesterday. I do hold back a times from my doctor. I know he sees through me but some things I don't want feedback on at that time. I also spend my days alone. Doing laundry, dishes---YAWN. I am on the hunt for a job and though I desperately want and need one, I fear I won't remember how to do things properly. When I left my last long term job of my own volition, I was super confident in my abilities and the economy hadn't gone to crap yet. But yes, with my doc, I have held things back. I tell him when I'm ready. However, if you're having hallucinations or hearing voices, please tell your doctor. That is something that should not be held back. What I hold back is minor, well to me. I guess not minor enough or I wouldn't fee the need to hide it from my shrink. Good luck to you.

I was embarrassed to tell my pdoc about my voices. I always put on a front and say good. So I decided to write everything that I was experiencing down on a sheet of paper. I went in and handed it to him. He read it, looked at me and thanked me for being honest. With out communication I cannot help you he said. So from now on I just write things down. I encourage you to be open so that they can help too.

When I went to the psych doctor I was really, really scared to tell her I wanted to self injure out of fear I would be put in the psych hospital. I got up the guts to do it and I was glad I did--she did put down that I have suicidal tendencies and made me do a contract for safety, but she also tweaked my meds. As a result, I can shave my legs without having the urge to hurt myself. It's scary to be that open and honest but it's best because it allows you to get the best possible treatment.

I am totally open and honest even about the nature of my intrusive thoughts. The only way they can help me is if they know what's wrong with me.

I still have a hard time opening up in therapy. Some weeks are better than othersbut I still hesitate. I think that for me somethings are hard for me to accept, I'm tired of living this way and I shut down. When I'm alone things are worst too, I get depressed and obsess over everything. Lately when I'm out I have panic attacks, so that's not good either. What a crazy life.

you can always try explaining it in writing, drawing or poetry and bring it with you to the session. that can help if your having a hard time communicating.

I have a heck of a time in therapy. I want to say so much but the word "fine" comes out of my mouth more often then not. I leave therapy with a feeling of what is this really doing for me? But it can't do anything for me until I start being honest. For once Id just like to say 'im really feeling crummy today." But I just can't make myself do it. Ive opened up a couple of times and everything was fine. I don't know why I psych myself up like I do but I do. I guess therapy is what we make of it. We have to be honest or we're honestly not going to move forward.

Journaling or printing out threads/posts here from DS and taking them with you to the pdoc and/or tdoc could be helpful. I wouldn't worry about telling them about the voices. I would be more concerned about getting help.
