Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I hope l'm around when the cure is found stability for always...yes please, the side effects make me sad not the meds, the fact l have bipolar makes me sadder
The switch back to lith was because of returning to a old pdoc who was a very educated man who read a artical on the lith/lamicatal protocol for bipolar. Yes it makes me sad to have to be so dependent on meds only because that brings fear that someday I may not be able to get therm and Id be sick again.
ofc my support worker gave the same analogy which I'm sure we have all heard so often - that if I was diabetic would I feel weak for taking insulin? she just didn't get that it's not that easy... yes our brain lacks certain chemicals and we need meds to adjust that... but I do sometimes feel like I should have more willpower over it (crazy I know)
I think I have to accept a life of meds.... or I certainly will fall into the gutter and not be one who is looking at the stars
And yes I've thought of a world ending scenario where I couldn't get my meds and just went right of the deep end. Lets just hope that never happens.
