About eight weeks ago I lost my psychiatrist when he switched hosptials way out of my travel zone. He passed me off to another doc but this one had to leave the hospital in a hurry for a family emergency and I guess he couldn't get me in with any of the other docs in the out patient clinic at the hospital. He told me to just go to my family doc and get a referral. It could take months before I see another doctor in this field and I'm getting absolutely freaked out and hypomanic right now because it seems like my life is up in the air and I don't know where It will fall. I can see this turning into another long and deep depression when the anxiety wears off so I worry constantly about that as well.
Has anyone got anything they do that I might try to get myself back under control before I blow a gasket? I'm really in a bad way right now and I could use a little help.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

I'm sorry it's going to take so long to get another referral to see a Pdoc .
In the mean time , try to use all your coping skills , and rely on your regular Dr if you have to
Once you get a referral you can ask to go on a cancellation list to hopefully get in sooner..
I agree with using coping skills and if you're meds aren't working the way they should be then your GP can also work with this... A tweak might help??
Therapy could help as well and your GP can refer you for this as well
Big hug of comfort for you..x
All the best to you
