are there any up sides to having bipolar. some say we are gifted but i dont see my gifts. things im able to do

roofing

drive a bus/coach

blockwork brickwork patios

painting and decorating

carpet fitting

washing machine repairs

car repairs ie service clutch change gearbox change and much more.

so are these classed as gifts or tallent's? i think not just things i have picked up on my journey. are we really gifted? we all have different ability's what are yours?

and what do you consider to be your gifts?

When I am manic I get a LOT done. I can write all night long when I am manic. I think that really can be a perk sometimes. Another is, I have a Great Sex Life, and I keep my boyfriend happy with that :)

I don't remember....It's definitely shaped my personality, and some people fuckin' love how eccentric I am. that's really all I can think of right now....I know one thing for sure, much more bad than good has come from it.

I stink at working. It looks to me and others that I am doing great on a project and then this snafu happens and then bingo that goes wrong and it all leads back to me.

If something shouldnt be said I say it.

If someone is overweight its me.
If someone should just be dead, walking in traffic and hit and killed would be nice it should be me.

I have a high IQ, did very well in school, straight a's in college. I had the passion to dream about becoming a doctor but I didn't have to drive to uproot my family to move to a medical college. I don't blame my bipolar though, I blame my bad decision making. Thinking about nursing now once I am getting older, still medical in something I am passionate about. As for the creativity they say, no way I still draw stick people.....

dorkieyorkie stick people lol. how do i find out what my iQ is? low i would of thought lol. i love to learn new things and pick up quick but when it comes to maths i do struggle.

You have to go to a school or I think your pdoc might be able to refer you to someone, he might actually do it too. Don't do the online tests they are crap.....I struggle in math too.. Two credits away from my degree both are math classes....

I have a weird attraction to God..... I search for God everywhere in all things.... the clouds, the books I read, dandelions, the soybean fields outside of town....... Doc said once it's my inflated ego.... luckily I was able to shirk that one off......

satorio i have thought i was jesus twice whilst manic and took me a long time to accept i was bipolar because the thing in which happened to me and my experiences felt so so real i still sometimes think i am being called upon to do something and when i am manic i do attract alot of attention. yeah had some strange things happen whilst manic they are hard to explain but it can be a beautiful feeling.

i think some of my writing came from hypomania/mania. course sometimes when manic i just churned out crap!
I used to be more creative when I wasn't medicated properly. ON SSRIs I was way more creative. but also insane as well.

Those are skills. Some are gifted and are able to perform tasks that require an understanding of mechanical devices, which are skills. Some have other skills which require other gifts.

I can sit on my ass and feel terrible better than anybody else.

I can also burn bridges, be condescending and be self-centered pretty well.
