Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
The phlebotomist at the ER was rough. He was this big dude and I was dehydrated so he was having trouble getting the blood out. I told him my right arm had better veins but he insisted on doing the left.
I then begged him not to press on my veins to force blood out. What did he do? Pressed on my veins. When he adjusted the bed to do the IV he was so rough. Here I was, vomit queen, and he didn't give a shit. I was too weak to protest. I thought of reporting his ass but why bother.
And while hubs was at work that week as I recovered, I stayed with mom. She rehydrated me. I was super nice cause I felt so much better. But I almost had to go back to the ER and I didn't want to go to the one with jackass at it. Compassion in the medical field is so important. Why don't some of them get that?
But I've also had amazingly experiences with both medical and mental health clincians.
I just moved from a town to another town and it was a positive move. However, in the former town I had the best psychiatrist I have ever had - he saved my life on two occasions with meds changes, the best two therapists I've ever had and the best GP I've ever had. I wanted them all to move with me but they wouldn;t come!! lol
But seriously, sinuses, bone aches and "that time" make me very cranky and it can cause behavioral problems, yes. I tend to isolate if I can during these times. I avoid church, for example, if I am not feeling well physically.
