I cannot take ambien. Although I don't particularly like klonapin, I have severe anxiety and I have to take it.
I take Lunesta (Imovane), and I have none of that stuff previously mentioned.
Also had some very interesting hallucinations while taking it, like the patterns in the wallpaper swirling around and pictures looking 3-D.
i suppose it wouldn't hurt to mention it to your doc....i never did...i stopped taking it when it stopped working for me. :)
CREEP!
I strongly suspect he was slipping me ambien the last two weeks we were together, and my doctors believe he was too, but there was no way to prove it because some of my other medications show up the same of a drug screen.
I am now highly sensitive to any kind of "sleepy" medication, even trazodone and seroquel. They make me sleep-walk and have wicked vivid dreams. Now I just save my ativan for the evenings when I need help sleeping and that seems to work just fine.

It is the only thing that will get me to sleep. Lunesta didn't have any effect on me. Ambien CR didn't put me to sleep. Have to have my ambien.
When I take it and go right to bed, I'm fine. If I take it and think I'll just watch tv until I feel tired, I do strange things. It used to be ambien sex(when I was married). Now that I'm divorced I eat. I hate that. I'd rather have the ambien sex. And yeah my ex once took advantage of my ambien amnesia state :(
I think a lot of the bad stories you hear about ambien are because people take it and think they can stay up until they're tired and then go to bed. But there really isn't a time between taking it and a feeling of being tired. You go from awake to unconsciously conscious state without knowing.
I have had the hallucinations too. I swear one night my door was breathing, I could see it inhale. And the other night a picture on my quilt was coming off on my hands when I touched it. My ceiling fan always creeps me out, it turns into an octopus a lot.
If I reduce the dose it doesn't work at all.
